About Me
MY STORY
Hi, I’m Kate, a UX/UI designer based in Memphis, TN!
Outside of design, I’ve always loved creative expression—whether through photography, music, or content creation—and I bring that same spark into crafting thoughtful, user-centered experiences. For me, design is about staying curious, solving problems, and creating meaningful solutions that improve people’s lives every day.
When I am not designing, you can find me playing pickle ball, taking film photos, DJing, playing piano, creating content, and playing fetch with my dog, Nellie!
With a background in Health Sciences and the personable charisma of a fine dining server, I bring empathy, attention to detail, and curiosity into my design work.
I was searching for a career where I could make a real impact while tapping into my creative side, and design drew me in as the perfect blend of creativity, problem-solving, and purpose. Once I discovered UX/UI design, I knew it was the right fit.
Before design, I earned a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, driven by a passion for helping others. I also spent 7 years in fine dining, where I learned to anticipate needs, communicate clearly, and adapt quickly. These skills I now carry into user-centered design.
Through my DesignLab UX Academy projects, I’ve explored everything from adding new features to existing platforms, to redesigning a local business website, to building an end-to-end mobile app. Along the way, I’ve strengthened my skills in research, wire framing, prototyping, branding, and usability testing, while learning how to turn complex problems into intuitive solutions.
